Brace Yourself

Some people say I’m a good photographer. I’m not. I’m naughty.

Take this couple, for example.

I couldn’t resist her hair. I have known and loved a standard poodle who sported the same coiffure,so I felt an odd affection for the old dear. But that hair had nothin’ on his fashion choices.

Maybe the old guy just runs hot. This would explain the Vent-O-Max ball cap and jaunty angle. Maybe he struggles with Teeny Head Syndrome and needs to compensate. Perhaps that would also explain her hair. Maybe they’ve been engaged in a silent “my head’s bigger than your head” war for half a century. At this point, it’s hard to say who’s winning.

However, nothing, I repeat, nothing explains this.

I had no idea that the peek-a-boo suspender th(i)ng existed, much less that they were a fashion accessory of choice for men of a discerning taste in Winnamuca, Nevada.

I will confess to a morbid fascination watching him shift in his seat as he bore down on his double cheese gorditas.  (Talk about thinking outside the buns!) Would that belt loop hold? It was like watching an elephant attempt a bungee jump. You just know that no matter how good an industrial design might be, if a device is strained light-years beyond it’s intended use, sooner or later, it’s gonna blow.

I couldn’t look away.

Oops. Time to look away.

Wow…that was a visual feast..these folks know how to double down on the fashion faux paus’. The poodle / mullet hybrid is surely an eye catcher and the whale tale suspenders?….what more can be said.

I read this at work. They may have to fire me. SO FUNNY. My favorite part of the poodledoo is the babygirl clippies that hold the business end of the mullet separate from the party in back. The hair clips combine simplicity and sophistication. They are the perfect couple, why stop at pictures, you could have had a conversation. I would have interviewed them.

okay, THAT is the funniest thing i’ve read today. maybe because i had taco bell last night. or because i’m from an area where either of these looks aren’t too uncommon.

ahahahah! so funny! I have a habit of photographing people from different decades to show to Big Daddy in hopes of enhancing his sense of humor, But I have started using my cell phone to take the pics, that way I dont get busted because it just looks like I am texting. And my granpa sports the same suspenders, except they are either the orange husquavarna ones or the lovely rainbow ones that I don’t even know it they are actually in production anymore. Too bad, they would look lovely with this mans hat….

That’s a visual that’s not readily forgotten. How fortunate to happen upon it.

Same question as Gail. I hope you’d already finished eating!

Unfortunately, it takes way more than a fashion faux pas to put me off my tacos. I just put the camera down and plowed ahead. (I did, however, refrain from ordering more.)

HA! You got caught! (Been there, done that.) BTW, still no email update saying there was a new posting … what’s up with that?

Tammy, I was Almost caught, for which I was grateful. She looked like one of those whose bite may actually be worse than her bark.

The email mechanism is scheduled for the 1-3 p.m. PST window after publishing the post, so even if I post at 3 a.m., the notice still doesn’t go out until that afternoon. (Just have to pick some time frame, and we figure folk can use a little after lunch levity.) Thanks for the enthusiasm!
